Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

Vermis is a local multiplayer worm-combat game. It does not run its own servers, does not have user accounts, and does not collect or sell any personal data. Specifically:

No account or sign-in of Vermis's own.
The app doesn't ask who you are. Worm name and color are just local preferences you set yourself.

Local multiplayer stays local.
Finding and connecting to nearby players uses your device's local network only (Bluetooth/WiFi, via Bonjour discovery) — never the internet, never a remote server. Match data travels directly between the phones playing together and nowhere else.

Game Center is optional and is Apple's own service.
If you're signed in to Game Center, Vermis reports achievements and leaderboard scores (like total kills or matches won) through Apple's GameKit framework. That data is handled under Apple's own Game Center privacy practices, not Vermis's — we don't add any tracking on top of it, and nothing about your Game Center use is visible to us.

No analytics, crash reporting, or advertising.
There is no third-party SDK of any kind in this app.

Settings and stats stay on your device.
Your worm name/color/weapon loadout, app preferences (sound, minimap, visual options), and match history (kills, wins, matches played) are stored locally on your device and never transmitted anywhere by Vermis itself — except the specific totals you choose to share with Game Center by being signed in, described above.

Because nothing is collected by Vermis itself, there is nothing to sell, share with third parties, or lose in a data breach.

If a future version of Vermis changes this, this policy will be updated first, before that feature ships.
