Inspectro listens to nearby sound through your device's microphone to draw a live spectrogram, detect pitch, and estimate tempo. Specifically:

All audio analysis happens on-device.The FFT, pitch detection, and tempo estimation all run locally on your iPhone or iPad's own hardware.
No recording, no storage.Inspectro never records or saves any audio, and doesn't keep a history of what it heard.
No network access.Inspectro doesn't transmit audio, or anything derived from it, anywhere. It has no server component and works fully offline.
No analytics or tracking.There is no usage tracking, crash reporting, or advertising SDK of any kind.
No account or sign-in.The app doesn't ask who you are and has no concept of a user account.
Only your preferences are remembered.Your chosen color palette, FX settings, and noise-gate level are stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults, purely so the app looks the same next time you open it. This is never transmitted anywhere.

Siri

Inspectro's Siri commands (e.g. "Change theme to blue in Inspectro") are handled by Apple's on-device App Intents system. Triggering one only adjusts a local app setting or starts/stops analysis — Inspectro does not send audio, transcripts, or any other data anywhere as part of this.

The Audio Unit plugin

Inspectro includes a bundled Audio Unit (AUv3) extension that lets its live view run inside another audio app (GarageBand, Logic Pro, AUM, etc.) as an effect. It's a true pass-through — it visualizes the host app's audio without altering or storing it. The plugin and the main app share your palette, FX, and noise-gate preferences using an iOS App Group, Apple's standard mechanism for an app to share local data with its own extension. This stays entirely on-device and is never transmitted anywhere.

Sharing a file in

If you share an audio or video file into Inspectro (for example, from the Files app), iOS copies that file into Inspectro's own local storage so it can be played back and analyzed the same way live microphone input is. Inspectro deletes its copy once playback finishes or you leave the file. The file is never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.

Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to sell, share with third parties, or lose in a data breach.
